FORENSIC FIRE ANALYSIS: PRE- AND POST-FLASHOVER FIRES
The March 2012 seminar will focus on the dynamics, documentation, and analysis of room fires using classroom lectures, live burns, and hands-on demonstrations. Three of the country’s most experienced fire scientists and investigators will lead a class through scene examination and reconstruction as well as side-by-side comparison of what effect flashover may have on fire patterns and interpreting a fire’s origin and cause.
The seminar includes a review of the latest accepted research findings and innovative photographic and scene documentation techniques such as laser and digital scanning and the Bilancia ignition matrix.

Monday, March 26, 2012 – Classroom Lectures (5 hrs)
Tuesday, March 27, 2012 – Investigation and reconstruction of two pre-burned cubicles (4 hrs)
Demonstration burns of two post-flashover cubicles followed by documentation and analysis. (4 hrs)
Wednesday, March 28, 2012 – Discussion, review, and test (3 hrs)
