Tom Campuzano Memorial Fund

Tom Campuzano, our good friend and a dedicated California Conference of Arson Investigators Board member passed away in 1999.  Tom served on the Board of Directors for CCAI from 1995 until his passing.  He became very active during the 1995 IAAI Conference, which was hosted by CCAI in the City of Los Angeles.  He had decided, after much persuasion, to work his way through the chairs in CCAI.  He had announced that he would accept the nomination for the office of Second Vice President, which he would have assumed in January of 2000 in San Luis Obispo.

Scholarship Applications

"SKI Scholarship" applicants/nominees are from the public sector and must not have funding available or are forced to pay out of pocket in order to attend our conferences.  There can be as many as recipients (possibly three) per conference and they will each receive $500 that they can apply toward 1) Membership registration (if they are not current members); 2) conference registration; 3) hotel lodging; 4) meal expenses; and 5) travel expenses.  We do as much as we can to help recipients stretch the $500 as far as we can.

"CAMPY Scholarship" applicant/nominees can be from anyone represented by our conference attendees.  The main qualification criterion is the same as above, a lack of training funds.  However, because of the SKI Scholarship being limited to the public, we do try to award this scholarship to someone from another sector of employment. There is provision for one scholarship awardee per conference who will receive $500 that can be applied in the same manner as listed above in the SKI Scholarship.

  • Each recipient must be able to obtain approval and understanding of the program in order to qualify.
  • Applicants can submit written (or emailed) interest or applications to the committee for either award.
  • Nominees’ names can be submitted by anyone, as long as they know their name is being forwarded for consideration.
